That was not the Heavy Metal Corvette drop. It was a takeoff remake. The original Heavy Metal the astronaut wore a white space suit. The movie also didn't show the release mechanism when the car left the space shuttle. The car also landed in the desert not on a road and there was no bounce.
True. I used this one because the original was poorly done. In the movie the shuttle deployed the vette from a bomb bay in the shuttle belly, which the shuttle doesn't have. Having worked around the shuttle, this was just more than I could let pass. This one is far more technically correct while keeping the corvette landing motif.
