Proposed Constitutional Amendment for the State of Colorado
To Clarify, Protect, and Strengthen the Right of the People to
Keep and Bear Arms in Self Defense
Be it Enacted by the People of the State of Colorado:
In the constitution of the state of Colorado, article II, section 13, number the existing text as clause 1, and add clauses 2, 3 and 4 as follows:
(1)The
right of no person to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person
and property, or in aid of the civil power when thereto legally
summoned, shall be called in question; but nothing herein contained
shall be construed to justify the practice of carrying concealed
weapons.
(2)
This right is fundamental and includes the right of individuals to buy,
sell, transfer, own, loan, possess, transport, carry, and operate
firearms as well as all standard, necessary, customary, or usual
equipment and accessories including magazines and ammunition.
(3)
Each law enacted after January 1, 2013 that restricts or limits this
right to any extent is hereby repealed. The repeal of these laws shall
not be construed to affirm laws enacted prior to January 1, 2013.
(4)
From the date this amendment becomes effective, no law, except a law
enacted by a vote of the people, shall restrict or limit this right to
any extent.
As soon as the verbiage is approved, the folks at a safer Colorado have 6 months to gather 86.100 signatures plus a healthy margin to allow for bad sigs and other challenges.

as bad as I hate the front range and virtually every son of a bitch infesting it ... I will drive there to sign this if i have to .
As this is a state wide issue, petitions should be available everywhere. Pick up a couple of blank ones and get your friends to sign them. Remember only sign one petition one time unless you're registered to vote multiple times.
Chicago rules.
"4...no law, except a law enacted by a vote of the people, shall restrict or limit this right to any extent."
In 2000, 70% of voters approved an amendment to require background checks at gun shows, even though there was no such thing as "the gun show loophole". Anyone who used the phrase "gun show loophole" is either ignorant or lying, but that didn't stop them from persuading ignorant voters (including many gun owners).
In 2013, the Colorado legislature did away with the secret ballot, in order to make election fraud easier.
If the new gun laws are put to a popular vote, they'd probably pass at some point in the future.
Hell, if the Bill of Rights were put to a popular vote today, they probably would not pass.
