Fun With Headlines - Food

 Here's a great one:

Genetically modified salmon head to US dinner plates

Now hum the tune:

Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads

Fish heads fish heads, eat 'em up, yum.

Pin Pointing Denver Crime

A study released yesterday includes information on the highest crime areas in Denver, giving locations down to certain street intersections. If you have lived here for a while, most of these come as no particular surprise.

Those hot spots – which make up only 1.56% of Denver’s landmass (excluding Denver International Airport) – were identified as the following areas:

  • South Federal Boulevard and West Alameda Avenue
  • Colfax Avenue and Broadway
  • Colfax Avenue and Yosemite Street
  • 47th Avenue and Peoria Street
  • MLK Jr. Boulevard and Holly Street

They are posted in no particular order, but the second one really stands out: This particular intersection  is known all over town as a trouble spot, partly because of the persistent homeless encampment on the South West corner, but mostly because of the wholesale theft ring operating out of the building 1 block East of the South East corner, which is also responsible in no small measure for the homeless encampment as well.

Rewriting History

The Dems are currently making noises about packing the supreme court if the court overturns all or part of Roe v Wade. This would require eliminating the filibuster in the Senate which doesn't currently seem likely, but who knows.

The other thing going on is the audit currently under way in Georgia that has already turned up evidence of massive fraud to the point that at least one judge is leaning toward invalidating all or part of the 2020 election there. At minimum this could cost one of Georgias new Senators his seat.

Fun With Headlines - Gaza War

Here's one from ET which is unfortunately behind their paywall, but having read the headline, you don't actually need to read the article:

Israel, Hamas Agree to Ceasefire Over Gaza Conflict: Netanyahu’s Office

Good to see the hostilities winding down. I have to wonder is the notable lack of participation by the Abraham Accords signatories had anything to do with this.

Arabic Word Of The Week - Hudna: Frequently mistranslated as cease-fire, or truce, this work has a much deeper meaning.  Hudna is usually called for by the side of a conflict that isn't doing as well as they'd like. i.e. they're getting their asses kicked. The best translation goes something like this: "O honorable enemy, I am wounded and nearly out of ammunition, Please stop shooting at me for a time while I get medical help, reinforcements, and more ammo!"

The time to ask for this is when you are in a position to defend yourself otherwise the winning side will cheerfully agree to your conditions, and as soon as you are vulnerable, will swoop down on you and kill you to the last man, frequently in very creative and colorful ways.

Domestic Violence?

I suppose the reasoning goes that since all Americans are just one big (mostly) happy family, any violent incidents will now be classified as domestic violence. Or some such. Like the domestic disturbances that seem to happen nightly in Portland, or the domestic kerfuffles that happen several times a night in Chicago, right?

The F.B.I. are now calling James Hodgkinsons firing of about 100 rounds at Republicans practicing for a softball game and "domestic violence extremism". This is a revision from a previous assessment of the act as an attempt at "suicide by cop".

I'm waiting for someone to introduce the " Steve Scalise anti terrorism Bill" to ban the sale of assault weapons, being defined as any firearm capable of holding more than one round, to anyone registered to vote as a Democrat. The Dems shouldn't complain as their greatest accomplishment in this area was the assassination of Republican president Lincoln, which was done with a single-shot pocket pistol.

Restrictions On Getting To Work

If the Democrats really wanted us to work for a living, you'd think they'd make it easier to do, but no. Gov Polis is proposing restrictions on the number of people at larger worksites that would be permitted to arrive in single occupancy vehicles.

CDPHE is essentially farming out to large companies enforcement of something it cannot do on its own; tell people they can’t drive their own cars to work.

Forcing companies to come up with a plan that meets the standards set by CDPHE burdens employers with making employees obey, says McConnell. This could be as simple as saying “carpool or take the bus or get fired” if the costs of compliance are higher than those of finding more compliant employees.

I seem to have picked a really good time to quit working (retire). I'm also curious, as a motorcycle rider, how many passengers I would have been expected to bring along on my motorbike in order to qualify as a High Occupancy Vehicle under the proposed rules.

Oh yes, and all this privatized tyranny is being imposed to fight the bogeyman of Global Warming by cutting Colorados carbon footprint by the amount produced by one Chinese coal fired power plant in one day.

The Political Spectrum

The left seems to have a rather narrow political spectrum, with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping on the left and pictured as the Dems friend at best and just a competitor at worst, and Vlad Putin on the right, Pictured here as an arch conservative and public enemy for his alleged role in getting Trump elected and for his role in freeing the slaves which the Dems still hold a grudge over.

This does ignore some realities, like the Chinese efforts to stamp out anything that looks like it might become more popular than their government, and the Dems mistake in nominating a very unlikable candidate and then failing to cheat enough to get her elected.

So there we have it: Xi is a Democrat, and Putin is a Republican, and that's the whole of the political spectrum, from left to right.

Maricopa Update

Here's an article from Gateway Pundit supplementing the 2 items I mentioned 2 posts down, and adding a third. Nothing at all to see here except that for a free and fair election, there seems to be an awful lot of effort being put into covering up exactly how it was conducted, ranging from county commissioners up to the Biden DOJ.

It might be worth remembering that Colorado uses the same equipment and methods as Maricopa County.

What They Say, and Why They Say It

This could almost be a fun with headlines post, but I'll leave it like this

'Furious' Meghan McCain's Brutal Nickname For Trump Lights Up Twitter

The actual verbiage being referenced is

“Go ahead in this sausagefest of MAGA up on Capitol Hill, pull her out and put another woman in who will do and say anything you want for President Trump,” McCain said. “See where this lands us in midterms. I’m absolutely furious.”

Now imagine if the affronted person had been "of color":

“Go ahead in this crackerfest of MAGA up on Capitol Hill, pull him/her out and put another POC in who will do and say anything you want for President Trump,” McCain said. “See where this lands us in midterms. I’m absolutely furious.”

Losing her job due to an over willingness to sell out to the other side, and blaming it on sexism. As I have observed before, if a liberal accuses you of racisim, it's a tacit admission of defeat in the argument. This observation seems to be equally valid for sexism, and probably for most, if not all of the other "isms" conservatives get accused of.

Maricopa Audit - Good News and Bad News

Here's 2 stories about the audit currently plodding along in Maricopa County AZ. First the bad news. The Dems, who have been moving heaven and earth to stop the thing have won an agreement with the Republicans who demanded it in that the auditors will no longer judge ballot validity based on signature matching. That is it now no longer matters if every absentee ballot in the county was signed by the same person.

Next up, the (possibly) good news is that it appears that computer equipment used in the voting and counting had been fitted with removable storage devices that were removed and stored in "undisclosed locations" by "undisclosed persons" who may or may not have been working for either Maricopa county or Dominion Inc. There is no record of custody.

My own uneducated guess would be that someone was warming the hot dogs they were having for lunch on the servers, but I'm assured by the article that those are removable data storage devices.

Dodging The Bullet

Here is the legal eagle O'Bummer wanted to put on the Supreme court.

Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland does not know that I.D. is required to purchase a firearm, despite the undo ‘burden’ it places on prospective buyers.

He thinks we should be requiring an ID to buy a gun, but not to vote. Yeah, Great pick.

Joe Biden 2.0 - New And Improved!

The above picture is the new Joe Biden 20, currently in the final assembly stages at Boston Dynamics, the world famous maker of robots. In the final version, the head will be replaced with a silicone copy of Biden 1.0 made by Real Dolls, maker of realistic humanoid robots. He will be dressed in a blue suit, and the crystal ball will be replaced with a stack of executive orders. The $1 slot will be replaced by a card/phone reader and will accept donations in increments of $1M. Nancy Pelosi and Susan Rice, highly placed members of the Democrat Party Central committee, say the new version should be quite a bit more reliable than the old one.

The right arm will be fully automated and capable of dashing off a credible signature as long as the document is placed within the alignment markers on the desk top and will even be able to replace the pen in the holder as long as the holder doesn't get bumped out of place. The voice function will be able to change the voice of whomever is speaking from behind the curtains to a perfect replica of the presidents voice with the substitution noticeable only by the lack of gaffes and wandering of the topics.

The Central committee assures us that replacing the president with the vice president, Kamala Harris, will not be necessary with these improvements installed, and in fact, Mr Biden is expected to easily win a second term in 2024 by a 54.65/45.35 margin. People who were worried that the drone of “C'mon man” might be replaced with endless cackling are universally relieved.

Worthy of note, perhaps, is that requests for a complete membership list of the Central Committee, have been met with reactions ranging from mumbling obfuscation to complete silence.

Gun Sales - Another Record!

Not entirely surprising but the size of the jump is certainly impressive. Aprils NICS check number is up 20% from 2020, and up 50% from 2019. Slo Joe, when backed by the DNC militias, Antifa and BLM, can sell guns at a rate that completely eclipses the former champ, Hillary Clinton.

Used to be you had to look closely to see the difference from one year to the next. Now there's enough space between the curves to park your car in. The good news, for criminals at least, is that the temporary shutdown of Remingtons ammo plant has left people with bunches of brand new guns, and no ammo to use in them. Even reloading components are being consumed by the existing  ammo plants leaving nothing for we frugal few to roll our own with.

The good news for the rest of us is that the Remington plant is slowly coming back on line. At the rate their going, the worst of the ammo shortage will be easing in about 6 months or so. Meantime, warning shots are a luxury we can no longer afford. Meantime, remember, a well placed shot today means you won't need a makeup shot down the road.

AZ Audit

Scott Adams this morning applied his detection skills to the AZ audit and suggested that nothing of any consequence would be found. His reasoning was that had anything turned up, it would have been leaked to the press and published.

Ordinarily, this might mean something but let me respectfully disagree. The Dems in AZ and other states are filing lawsuits and issuing press releases demanding that the audit be stopped for one reason or another, but centering on a claim that the investigation is an attack on "our democracy". By "our democracy" I assume they mean their win in the Maricopa vote count. Had they lost, it would be attributed to voter suppression or some such.

I'm sure that at least some information has leaked out even if it's only someones speculation as to the direction the audit is heading. The people running the audit are bound by an NDA forbidding them from releasing partial results or progress reports. This is likely to allow the Dems more time to get the results legally buried before they get generally released. The Dems know what is to be found and the efforts they're putting into quashing that information suggest to me that it must be pretty good.

The media is pretty solidly part of the DNC and if word got out that say 5% of the  ballots (210,000) seemed to have something obviously wrong with them and their removal would change the outcome of the election (winning margin 10,500 statewide), they would certainly have NO interest in publishing that.

My contention is that if no leaks have been published, it's not because there were no leaks.

Census Results

After losing a representative by 86 warm bodies, I bet Gov Cuomo is really regretting sending those older Covid cases to the nursing homes.
