American Progress, a page for the inner "progressive" in you has a quiz to see how well you fit the mold of the New Socialist Man.
I got 64/400, which they define as extremely conservative. Keep in mind that for them, Ted Kennedy is probably the paragon of an even-keel centrist. Other such "tests" I've taken have me slightly to the right of center, but only slightly.
A couple of the questions were deceitfully worded. I do not have a problem with immigrants. The word "Illegal" was conveniently left off in the question. Scoring is done on a 10 points per question basis, so having no opinion, and voting a 5 will get you 5 points toward becoming a progressive.

I fell in about 166/400 - almost a Republican, tending toward Conservative Republican. But way more conservative than a high school dropout or Baptist.
And there were a number of questions that were "wrong" for me. For instance, terrorism has to be fought even if it means limiting civil rights (no) or engaging in activities that might be called torture (maybe).
Or Government should assure medical care for everyone (care should be available, government shouldn't finance it).
Several others had some wildly implausible assumptions, that made the question moot or made it difficult to answer the question instead of rebutting the assumptions.
An interesting experience - thanks!
The question on immigrants: Immigrants today are a burden on our country, because they take our jobs and abuse government benefits.
Immigrants: No.
Illegal immigrants: yes.
If some of those questions were cleaned up a bit, the average American would probably score about the same as you.
I got that low score by going in to the test with a take-no-prisoners attitude, useful when dealing with lefties.
