Grammar Test

The fine points of English grammar can sometimes be confusing. That said, here's a grammar test from the BBC, the worlds greatest authority on energy, economics, social issues, and of course, English grammar.

I got 7/10, which for an engineer has to be fairly good. Any higher and I'd be looking for work as a professional pundit, librarian, or green energy expert.

"Grammer Test"

It's spelled "grammar".

What inferences can I draw about your ideology from this error?

None whatsoever. You can infer, as I have, that the spell check function on Blogger is not functional in the title block.

Pink Floyd High School. Besides it was a grammar test, not spelling.

So conservatives don't take responsibility for their own mistakes, and prefer to blame others.

Obstructionist Democrats. The bane of western civilization.

I got 5 of 10 right, which means i'm a low brow engineer. lol

Anyway, the brits use funny writing styles, and they talk funny too. But they probably think we talk and write funny. Such is life.

What would probably be the absolute end would be an English language comprehension test based on an analysis of Cricket team rankings.

Samizdata takes up the subject once in a while and while I'm pretty sure they're using words from an English dictionary, comprehension disappears in the first sentence.
