Blogger Bash

1. Next month this blog will be 3 years old, so let's have a blogger bash.

2. We haven't had a blogger bash in some time now, so let's have one.

3. Sumer is icumen in, Lhude sing cuccu! So let's have a bash!

The last one I organized was at the Old Mill in Littleton which was well received. The Jury Room at Pint's Pub has been suggested as well as Hanson's Grill and Tavern at Pearl and Louisiana. The Jury Room seats 12, which should be big enough unless our ranks have grown. Never been to Hanson's. Maybe some scouting is in order.

Date: Near the end of April? Suggestions?

Voting is open via comments.

Easter is on the 24th.

And why is spell check flagging all my words?

Must be your regional accent.

How about the 16th of April?

I'd like to go, but can't go on the 16th or the following weekend. I could go on the 2nd, the 9th, the 30th, or any Friday but the 22nd.

For reasons not completely understood by me, Firefox had gotten the notion that my language was French (Luxembourg). I blame OpenOffice.org, but I don't know the mechanism used.

I'm going to vote with the crazy mandolin player, because he's never been to a bash.

See, I was right about your accent.

I liked the Old Mill -- the food was excellent, the service was very good, and we had a nice quiet area to ourselves.

That said, Hanson's is a short walk from home, so I'd certainly like going there, too. I haven't been there in a while, but the food was good. And there's an upstairs area which, if we could reserve it, would be quite nice.

For those into alternative transportation (i.e., minimizing the chances of a DUI arrest), Hanson's is a block from the Louisiana/Pearl light rail station.

I, too, support a date when the mandolin player can make it, so I vote for "the 9th, the 30th, or any Friday but the 22nd."

We are voting, right? :-)

Jeez, I just noticed that your other option is Pint's Pub. That's a great choice, too!

It's more of a walk from light rail, for those of us who care. But it has the best selection of single-malt Scotch in the world!

Which makes avoiding driving even more of an issue. :-)

jed said...

Okay, Richard. You buy the single-malt, and I'll drink it.

:)

I'm willing to try to make any date that works, as long as I'm over the crud by then - I've had it about 2 1/2 weeks already.

I hate you all.

(Really, I adore you all and I hate that you'll still have bashes without me because I HAVE NOT HAD EVEN ONE WITHOUT YOU.)

I vote for April 30 as it gives everybody some time to fix the date.

Where? I like the Old Mill, as it's nearby for me and 3 blocks from the Littleton light rail for you P.T. riders. Hansons sounds nice too, and I've never been there and it's not very far off. So first choice is the Old Mill, and second is Hansons.

Vote here, with first and second choice.

Mr. Lady, you can always drop by.

I'll be there as long as my trip to China doesn't get in the way. Just let me know when and where.

I liked the Old Mill. Nice place.

I think I'm available.

Awright. 30th. Old Mill.

2nd choice; Ned Kelly's.

Mr. Lady, we will, of course, be thinking about you while we're having a hell of a good time. Don't they do blogger meetups down there?

Billll said...

As of today, April 2, we have 8 potential attendees, an unknown unspecified number of guests, SO's, groupies, whatever, 3 votes for the Old Mill, and 2 for Hansons.

I'm leaning toward the 30th as a date. Anybody getting married / deployed / deported and need an earlier date?

Since Atlas Shrugged will be playing then, should we make it a movie and blogger bash? Colorado Theaters

Saturday April 30th is the machine gun shoot in Last Chance, CO. How about a blogger's meet/machine gun shoot ;-).

I'm hoping to make it to the machine gun shoot, but my availability overall is limited because my wife will actually be on a retreat that weekend and I'll have kid duty.

But you'll never get everyone together on the same weekend, that one just happens to be a really bad one for me. I'll do my best whenever it is ...

So, we're set for the 30th, at the Old Mill?

Billll said...

It looks like that's the agenda. I'll set it up with them to get the birthday room again, with start time at 7 PM. Get there early, and get a head start on the beer.

Sorry, folks, but I'm a no-can-do for reasons that would require me to flee the state if they became public knowledge.

Beer Billll for me.

David, Atlas Shrugged won't be playing on the 30th unless it does really well on its opening weekend and thereafter. So go see it on the 15th - 17th. Please! If it's still playing on the 30th, I'm all for going again before RMBB.

Jed, if we ever end up at Pint's Pub, I'll gladly buy you a Scotch. :-)
