Science Marches Onward! - Transparent Mice!

Now how in the hell did western civilization ever get as far as it did without this gem:
This involves a certain amount of processing of the mouse and it's not immediately clear that the mouse survived the experience. One must suppose that it did, otherwise inspection of the internal organs would be done the old-fashioned way which pretty much guarantees that the mouse does not survive the experience.

It appears to be a terminal procedure. Also those mice in the picture obviously have had their skin removed.

Looks like the detergent is infused replacing the blood which would kill the mouse. (Pretty commonly done procedure when fixing tissues as you can fill the blood vessels with formalin and fix complex tissues like the brain very quickly)

Still what you can see hear allows observation of structures like the brain and kidneys without having to cut open the animal and potentially damage or disrupt the structures. X-Rays, CT and PET scans allow observations without killing the animal, but the images are never THAT clear.

So if we infused Obama with detergent he'd become as transparent as he claims to be?

Thin-skinned as he is, removing any would be superfluous.
