Based on the results from the last club match, and the last postal match, I'm a bit off my pace, and in need of more range time.
Mmmmm range time.
The next postal match is up at Sebastians, and what do you know, it's something I've done before: NRA Silhouette. He's even added a masochists class for you folks who believe in leaving no target unshot, no matter what it takes.
1.Bring lots of ammo for this one.
2. You will be expected to count ALL the holes.
For me, this would be easy since by the time I hit every single target, there would be only one large ragged hole in the paper.

Mmmmm range time.
Unfortunately, with rising gas and ammo prices, range time is going to be more and more prohibitive for a lot of people.
You're dedication is admired. As John Ross said, "it's a hell of a lot of work if you don't like it." And even if you do like it, getting there is a hell of a lot of work (in both time and money). The nearest public shooting area to me was closed earlier this year -- now I have to drive 50 miles each way.
Demographics, economics, and geography are going to do more to destroy the gun culture than Sarah Brady and company ever could.
That being said, I look forward to seeing you at this year's Blow Up the World party.
That's why they make motorcycles, although I admit that packing the Barrett on my bike might raise a few eyebrows as the only place I could conveniently carry it would be mounted on the handlebars.
That's why they make motorcycles,
Which doesn't do me any good if I'm trying to introduce newbies to the activity of shooting.
Or bring a rifle. Or several guns. And all of the accessories.
Or if it's winter.
Or if I didn't own a motorcycle.
There's not way I could get everything I need to Blow Up the World (or the Bike-N-Shoot) on a motorcycle.
Motorcycles are not the answer.
If somebody doesn't start building ranges that are convenient for city-dwellers and suburbanites to get too, private gun ownership in this country is doomed.
According to this video, there is only one shooting range in Manhattan.
Here in the Denver/Boulder area, where we're supposedly much freer to exercise our Second Amendment rights, things aren't much better. I can think of 3 or 4 public indoor shooting ranges, and 1 public outdoor shooting ranges.
That's not enough for a population of two to three million.
Carrying this exercise further:
According to Google Maps, the nearest public range to me is 30 miles / 40 minutes away.
Even before the gas (and ammunition) price increases that began several years ago, this was not practical to go to on a regular basis. And since shooting is a skill that needs to be maintained with regular practice, the prohibitive (but not necessarily impossible) time and distance required make owning a gun rather pointless for many people.
Factor in what an unpleasant place most shooting ranges are *, and we've got a much bigger problem on our hands.
* As shooting enthusiasts, I think this is something we overlook, because we like shooting enough to tolerate some of the facilities and people involved.
