All in all this looks like a huge win for Trump and Iraq. One hopes the 2 arrested are somewhere remote and quiet where they are filling our people in on the latest news from Tehran.

Vox Calls For Armed Resistance

Tubman On The Twenty

It has been announced that Harriet Tubman is the administrations pick to go on the $20 bill. For once I think this is a good idea, as Jackson in my mind is remembered as the founder of the Democratic party, and the man behind the Trail of Tears Indian relocation.

The only thing left to decide now is the actual portrait to use. I favor this one:

Rumor has it that other currency is up for remodeling. Unconfirmed is the rumor that Obama plans to put himself on the $100. It is popular for heads of banana republics to put themselves on the largest note the general population is likely to be carrying and to decorate the lesser bills with their cronies.
With Hamilton fairly well secure on the $10 and Washington on the $1, expect to see Valerie Jarret on the $50 and Al Sharpton on the $5.

Representation For Non-Citizens

We've been doing this for a long time but the issue finally made it to the SCOTUS where 8-0 it was determined that allocating representatives to the U.S. House based on a districts population of warm bodies regardless of their actual eligibility to vote or citizenship status was in fact constitutional.

The ruling implied that counting only citizens would pass muster as well, but it looks like no one actually does this. Illegals don't need to vote. They get representation by default.

European Rights

As far as I know, the Europeans don't have any rights in the sense that anything might be recognized as God-given. Does not having a right imply an inherent right to defend it? Rights granted by governments are not actual rights in that a government may revoke them, thus they are privileges, not rights. If you let the government define your rights as privileges, you have already lost them.

A "universal declaration of human rights" is actually nothing more than statute law, subject to "common sense" modification or limitation. You may say whatever you want in Europe, as long as no one is offended by your speech for example. You may defend yourself against attack as long as your defense does not exceed the level of the attack, so if you and your attacker end up equally damaged or dead, then you're good to go as long as the walking stick you used is not judged to be more dangerous than his sap.

Insty is noting that the Euros are discovering the need for a right to arms in the light of their governments discovering no need for such formalities as national borders. France today is facing the latest incarnation of the army of Emir Abdul Rahman and has not yet recognized this.

Reducing Crime

Lots of methods for reducing crime have been suggested and even tried in the past, but here's an wasy one that seems to be working. Norway, one of the lefts Socialist poster children has just deported 824 especially troublesome Muslims over the wails of anguish from the multi-cultis.

The MC's are now virtually silent as Norway's violent crime rate is down 30% in one year.

Here in the U.S. violent Muslims are not yet the problem they are in Europe as it's a much longer swim from Africa to the U.S. east coast but still the technique has merit. It would be the equivalent of deporting some 51,283 illegals in one year. With a minimum of 11 million to choose from, this should be easy. Just send home the ones who can't produce a valid voter registration card or who have 3 or more felonies on their records.

  Note to Ms Harf: In the past, this technique has proven to be quite effective. Multiple examples exist of one side killing the other until few or none of their former enemies were left. Recidivism among the survivors has been historically low.

2.“We cannot kill every terrorist around the world, nor should we try,”

   Note: If you kill enough of them, the rest will get the idea that perhaps theirs is an unproductive line of work. Case in point might be the Somali pirates. Heard from them lately?

In North Korea this wold be done to catch people who have figured out how to get extra food rations, except the Dear Leader of course.

Islamic Innovation

This could be the title of quite possibly the shortest book ever written. Even the use of the zero now seems to be traceable to India rather than an invention by Muslims.

Harvard U. has installed SodaStream (r) fizzwater machines to allow the students to concoct the carbonated drinks of their choice. The machines are designed and built in Israel which some of the student body find objectionable as it reminds them that their culture has produced essentially nothing in the last 1500 years. This is being called "microaggression".

To atone for the insult (micro-insult), Harvard is debating whether to either remove the machines completely, or to just remove the SodaStream labels.

Torture Hearings

The Senate torture hearings accomplished pretty much everything they were intended to accomplish, namely to give the media something to write about besides the Gruber testimony on the gestation of Obamacare.

OTOH, it also appears that given the graphic videos produced by the murdering, raping, head-chopping slave traders of the Religion Of Peace, most Americans seem to be just fine with the idea of pouring some water up the noses of those captured in order to cripple the production values of the next video.

Losing Your Religion

The city of Coeur d'Aline, Idaho has an ordinance that seems to require anyone practicing any religion to remember that the first commandment refers to the official state religion of Secular Humanism or something. The ordinance requires anyone performing a marriage, for example, to perform whatever type of marriage the customers demand. Some seem to think this is an overreach on the part of the city council, no matter how exalted they may think themselves, but I thing there's an opportunity here.

Just think, if this were a federal statute, I could go to the Grand Islamic Mufti of the United States* and demand he perform a Jewish wedding between myself and a pig. And not just any pig, but a big hairy boar. If he refuses I could then sue in Federal court, have him jailed for 10 years or so, and demand title to his Mosque and its treasury. By the time he got out, the former mosque (now al-Porquis) would be nationally famous as the home of the best pork Barbeque in the country, kicking off with my jilted fiance.

Just thinking out loud.

*The only person in the U.S. who regularly makes pronouncements as to what or whom is or is not Islamic has been the President. Someone needs to remind him that if you're going to denounce someone, ISIS say, as un-islamic, this needs to be accompanied with a fatwa calling for some appropriate punishment, say massive carpet bombing or something.

Scottish Festival

This weekend in Highlands Ranch. Scottish dogs, Scottish booze, Scottish food (but don't let that frighten you off. You don't have to eat it.) Scottish music, British cars, Irish and Welsh stuff, and muscular men in kilts doing manly things like tossing telephone poles. Entertainment includes the Carlos Nunos Band. Carlos plays a lot of instruments including the bagpipes and is reportedly quite good.

Driving In Denver

If you are involved in an accident in Denver, weather in a car or as a pedestrian, there's a 20% chance the other fellow will leave the scene, without stopping if his car still works. In a lot of cases, it transpires that the runner is here illegally, has no license or insurance and doesn't want to be deported although so far none have been.

In an effort to reduce the hit and runs, Colorado will now offer drivers licenses to illegal aliens. The thinking goes that when Pedro or Mohammed, as the case may be, runs over or into someone, his ability to produce a drivers license will dissuade him from fleeing the scene. He will, of course be issued a ticket and a summons to court, which I hold out little hope of him honoring since no real I.D. seems to be required to get the license in the first place. Pedro becomes Miguel and Mohammed becomes Muhamed and the miscreant disappears into the paper shredder.

It is also stated that the new license will not be useable as I.D. to board a plane or to vote. Since no I.D. is currently needed to vote here anyway, this won't cut into the Dems base noticeably.

OTOH, this sets up a defacto registration of illegals in Colorado as the DMV will have a complete record of everyone who got such a license with their address and photo so on the off chance that being an illegal ever becomes illegal, we would have a good start on picking them up.

Don't tell anyone this. It will depress the demand for the licenses.

QOTD - Immigration

In an effort to boost his votor base New York Mayor DeBlasio is planning to issue photo I.D. cards to illegal immigrants. His comment:

“If you can’t sign a lease, if you can’t get a bank account, if you can’t do the basics, if you can’t even prove who you are, it doesn’t feel like you truly belong,” de Blasio, a 53-year-old Democrat, said in April, in support of the card.

Of course if you're here illegally, you may get the feeling that you don't belong because in fact, you don't. It's called a clue.

Letting Bygones Be Bygones

Mayor DeBlasio is disbanding a NYPD unit whose charter was to watch the Muslim community in New York. Sounds fair to me, after all what did Muslims ever do to New York?
