Coverup

Got a request from a lefty newsletter I get to demand that Facebook censor a bit more of their content:
---------------------------
Topless women aren't allowed on Facebook. But bodiless heads now are.

Facebook is no longer removing videos or images of people being beheaded, even as they continue to ban women for posting pictures of them breastfeeding. But what's going to scar you more — seeing a woman's breast or seeing someone butchered before your eyes?

This move isn't just stupid from a PR standpoint — it's also horrifically irresponsible, giving access to this traumatic footage to anyone with a Facebook account. Please join us in urging Facebook to reverse its policy and ban photos and video of beheadings now.
Frankly I thing the beheadings and the like should not only be permitted, but should be easily searchable. Lest we forget who or what the civilized world is up against.

So it's cool to post pics of drone attacks and other Allied bomb strikes and torture snapshots etc to remind people of what the civilized world is like?

Good, because I just reposted a lovely portrait of some dead toddlers.

Hey, Critic, be sure to post the pictures and videos of the ambulances transporting fighters to the front line, the children being told to wear the suicide vests, the supposedly dead civilians getting off the stretchers when they get around the corner, and every other trick of modern guerrilla fighters using propaganda to change public opinion.

On the other hand, I don't see you criticizing the guerrilla fighters for living among civilians, not identifying themselves as combatants, surrounding themselves with innocents. Under the international laws of war, anyone who does that sort of thing is guilty of a war crime, considered an illegal combatant, and subject to absolutely no legal protections from civil or military authorities.

Shorter version: We target bad guys, not buses of school kids. We kill bad guys plus as few as possible innocents.

They target innocents on purpose. They maximize innocent casualties, on purpose.

Death is a horrible thing. Asinine stupidity is another. While we will all die one day, you have a chance not to remain stupid.

We consistently kill innocent people in countries we aren't at war with by dropping bombs on them. Whether the target is bad guys are not, we're giving the civilized world a bad rap.

Kill a kids mom and of course he'll want to behead somebody. The cycle of being uncivil takes two parties to continue, and the US is certainly one of those parties. Revenge breeds more revenge.
