I asked my daughter for a brick of .22 for fathers day. Cheap and easy to find at Wal-Mart.
Wal Mart didn't have any. Instead they had mini-bricks, 225 rounds in smaller boxes.
When the zombies come, aim carefully, the ammo you save will be your own.

Not sure about a shortage of .22LR. I don't do it every trip, but I try to buy bulk .22LR on a somewhat regular basis, when I'm grocery shopping. It's been hit'n'miss on the 525 rd. boxes, and this isn't anything new. But that's been Federal, and often they still have the smaller packs, and / or Remington. That's in Highlands Ranch; I haven't been in the Englewood or SW Littleton stores in quite a while.
I've noticed plenty of .22LR at the Tanner show too.
OTOH, Time magazine (online anyway) has an article up about how "bullets" are flying off the shelves.
I keep my head down as I walk past.
