QOTD - Colorado Gun Law

"People who own guns are essentially a sickness on our soul."
Colorado State Senate President John Morse, D-Colorado Springs.
Sen Morse used to be a police chief before the Libertarians effectively elected him to the state Senate.

I'll bet this clown thinks of himself as a patriotic American citizen.......He is NOT

He's one of the ones who think they know better than we do what's best for us. He sees his election as confirmation of this.

I suppose he speaks only from his own experience.

I mean, who owns more guns that the Department of Education, police department SWAT teams, the US government, etc.?

Myself, I think there are exceptions to the gun owner = sickness. Many of them serve or have served in the Military, others mind their own business.

But then, I equate "sickness" to "We are the only ones . . " and those that think they are above, or outside, the law, and prey on others. But I get redundant here.

Your claim that the Libertarians put him in office is dubious at best. When I was active in the LP, the R's lost an Arvada (I think) race, and made the same claim, so I did an informal survey. I got responses from more than 50 Libertarians who answered the question "If there were no Libertarian in a race, which candidate would you vote for - Democrat, Republican, or neither". The results were split pretty evenly - 1/3 for each. So if the Republican lost by more than 1/3 of the Libertarian vote, your conclusion is suspect.

It would depend on how the independents were breaking in any given year. If they break toward the Republicans then more than half the Lib vote would presumably go to the Republican.

The results of the last election are on line. Morse won by about 130 votes, and the Lib candidate took some 1300.
