Report Confirmed

Well if I was dictator, I'd have put the head on a pike on the White House front lawn for 3 days before putting it and the body in a pig farm for fodder. Did I mention the webcams at the pig farm?

Anyway, from Girl On The Right, this ought to be the iconic image of the day:
Sums it up nicely, doesn't it? I bet Mullah Omar is impressed with his sudden promotion to the top post at Al-Q too.

Billll,

This blogger 'sorry, unable to take your comment' crap -- where the back arrow clears the comment box -- feels very rude.

I won't rejoice in the killing of anyone.

There is no doubt in my mind that the death of Osama bin Laden was both necessary and painfully delayed.

Unfortunately, the time in the last decade has been enough to spread his legacy even wider and more deeply among those that shared his hatreds and beliefs. As far as reducing risk of harm to America and his other enemies, his death today accomplishes much less than it would have a decade ago.

Except, of course, that the killing of bin Laden -- not his death, his killing -- makes such great front page and online noise, as President Obama wields the might of America to further his re-election plans.

By all accounts, the death of bin Laden accomplishes little in reducing the threat to America. The killing of bin Laden may, or may not, agitate those that believe as bin Laden did, and that rightfully hold America, and B. Hussein Obama personally, responsible for the killing of one of their own.

Coming so soon after the release of the so-called birth certificate, this really reeks of a re-election strategy to replace the continuing rumble of constructive criticism of our present government. President Obama surely wants to replace public criticism about weakening economy outlooks, about anti-business regulations having their intended strangling effects, about the continuing trade-off of well-paid careers for low-paid entry level jobs, and about the increasingly obvious class warfare and racial divisiveness of this administration.

God keep Osama bin Laden. I am well done with him.

I've never heard or seen such a problem. I see you got around it, though.

Billll,

Blogger has an intermittent bug.

The first time you comment on a post, it sometimes "forgets" to give you a check box to subscribe to comments.

If you enter the word verification, choose the identity, etc., and actually hit "PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT", then you get a Blogger error message, "Sorry".

For me, the back arrow takes me to a new page - all the text from the comment is obliterated for this particular bug.

This bug has been floating around for several weeks, it only happens the first time you comment on a given post, and doesn't appear to have anything to do with content, whether your comment is first, or anything else I can see. The missing 'subscribe' box seems to be a fairly reliable predictor, if I notice it.
